Local Program Focus for 2009-2010
Education:
- Support and monitor the implementation of school impact fees as
an integral part of Lee County School District's funding.
- Support a free public school system for Lee County that sets high
standards for student achievement; that provides equality of
educational opportunity for all; that recruits and retains faculty
and staff of high quality; and that is financed adequately by the
state through an equitable funding formula.
Social Policy:
- Support, through education and advocacy, resources needed for
children-at-risk in Lee County.
- Promote essential human services delivery to people living in Lee
County by supporting programs that enhance the well-being of
individuals, recognize the special needs of children and families,
and provide adequate shelter.
Health:
- Support the Lee Memorial Health System Trauma Center.
- Promote the delivery of affordable health care and mental health
services within Lee County that provide for the well-being of all
with an effort to control costs.
Natural Resources:
Promote an environment beneficial to life through the protection
and wise management of natural resources in the public interest.
